Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum take over ACMs

Country superstars had an exciting night at the ACMs
On April 18th the hottest stars in country music took their seats at the 45th annual Country music awards in Las Vegas hosted by country music’s own Reba McEntire. It was a huge night for rising country group Lady Antebellum. Nominated for five awards the young group walked out with three awards including Top Vocal Group of the year, Song of the Year and Single of the Year. 27 year old Miranda Lambert hit it big also, surprisingly beating out Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood for Top Female Vocalist of the Year while also taking home awards for Album of the Year and Video of the Year with her smash hit “White Liar.” It wasn’t just these two country phenomenas who had a big night. Brad Paisley was awarded Top Male Vocalist of the Year sending home other top male country heartthrobs Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban. Carrie Underwood was crowned Entertainer of the Year, becoming the first female in ACM history to win Entertainer of the Year twice. Carrie also took home the Triple Crown Award which left 20 year old country sensation Taylor Swift empty handed.
The night wasn’t all about awards though. Brooks & Dunn performed for the last time on the ACMs singing “Dear Maria” which was chosen by the fans. Country stars like Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift delivered very inspiring and emotional performances, while Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins had their own way of entertaining country music fans singing “Hillbilly Bone.” Rascal Flatts didn’t win an award, but performed their new single “Unstoppable.” Sugarland, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney also took the stage in Las Vegas, and the uprising superstars in the Zac Brown Band did their special performance while visiting American soldiers in Iraq. From inspirational performances to new country superstars taking over the stage at the 45th annual ACM awards, It was a great night for everyone.
