The Truth About Our Cafeteria Food!

The Truth About Our Cafeteria Food!
Stoller Food With Facts and Opinions

Do you eat the school lunches? If you do, than READ THIS. If you don’t, than STILL READ THIS ARTICLE.
My partner and I investigated our schools cafeteria., which was quite the ride. We surveyed some students and teachers about the quality of the foods. The questions that we investigated were: are the lunches ladies safe? Seven out of eight people said that they were and one out of eight people said they were not safe. Do the lunch ladies wear gloves or hairnets? Six out of eight people said they don’t wear hairnets and gloves and two out of eight people said they do wear hair nets and gloves. Does the food taste good? One out eight people said the food tasted good and the other seven people said the food didn’t taste good. Is there enough food? Three out of eight people said there is enough food and the other five people said their wasn’t enough food. Is the food getting better? Everyone thought the food was getting better besides one person. As you can see, most of this voting was very close to each other. After surveying students and teachers, my partner and I personally went to the lunch ladies and got some accurate information about the food.
We then interviewed the lunch staff working down in our cafeteria. They helped give us a clear view on what their job really was in the lunch room. Although it doesn’t seem like it, the food is actually quite healthy by government standards. It has also gotten even healthier from last year due to new state laws. Everything has been changed to whole wheat. Foods are all locally produced and bought. Some worry that there isn’t enough food everyday for all the students, but there is. One job that the lunch staff have is to find out which foods the students like the most and which foods are generally left alone. Since the menus (which are shared by all middle schools in the district) are pre determined by the government, the lunch staff actually have no control over what they have to put out each day. What they can do is even the foods out. For example, if no one eats the fish sandwiches, then they will put less fish sandwiches and maybe more pizzas instead. Sanitization of the food and workplace is a factor that also concerns many people. The kitchen has several glove boxes put around, although the lunch staff tend to use them only when handing the food out. Gloves give a false sense of sanitation because they can carry the germs around the kitchen. Washing hands frequently is better and more important since it gets the germs off and prevents spreading. Many of the cart foods have been removed this year because the government required healthier foods and the stuff in the carts didn’t meet the standards. Some foods also had to be changed because foot eh budget, like the juices.
So that’s about it. We have revealed the truth about our cafeteria! I hope some of you guys stop looking at the food in a bad way. We got all the evidence and accurate infromation from the lunch staff in person. So if you don’t believe us now, then thats too bad, you get the leftovers. Thank you for reading.
