On April 18th, the Portland Trail Blazers were up against the Suns in Phoenix, on game one, many blazers fans traveled to Phoenix to support their home team. But the home core advantage didn’t bother the team one bit, they played a hard game leaving the folks back at Portland surprised, and hopeful for another win the next game on April 20th. There it was posted onto ESPN.com, streaming on sports center and even the local news. Blazers: 1, Suns: 0. everyone back in Portland was talking about how amazed they were from how well they played. Also, conversation was focused on how close the game was, the Blazers only winning by a slim five points.
The second, the blazers did not too well. They came up short without Brandon Roy on the team by a larger amount than the Blazers could hold off. They won by a whopping 29 points, Steve Nash made many three-pointers to give the Suns a huge lead in the first quarter. They also used another star player, Jared Dudley who made many field goals to finish up some business on the court. The Portland fans were not too happy about this two game straight losing streak and demanded a win! They were tired of losing to the Suns. They knew they could bring them home with the next game that was in Portland.
The Portland fans were all pumped up for the third game at the Portland Rose Garden. The Blazers had a huge welcome home applause first thing when the smoke eroded from the tunnel they emerged from. The Blazers knew that they had this one in the bag. But the crowd was just not enough for Portland because they just couldn’t pull it off; they had faced another loss to Phoenix creating a two-game losing streak. They had to face a 19-point loss to the Suns.
On Saturday, the Blazers went against the Phoenix Suns, where the Blazers, with Lamarcus Aldridge’s high amount of shots won the game; he made a great amount of points, which was a whopping 31 points. This night was also the night where Brandon Roy came in after his eight-day rest because of arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. He then texted coach McMillan and said that he should join the game and that he could help win the game. He came right into the court playing the “rocky” theme. This game then tied the Blazers win loss from a 1-2 to a tied 2-2. They started out with a one-point advantage, in the first quarter, where Aldridge made a 12 foot two-pointer making the score 2-2. Then Aldridge made a 20-foot shot with the assist from Jerryd Bayless, which tied the game 4-4. Marcus Camby then made a remarkable offensive rebound. Furthermore, Aldridge made a layup making the score 13 for the Blazers. This resulted in anticipation of a win. In the second quarter, total score was 23-28, in the Blazers favor. This resulted in great enthusiasm for the vast crowd of Blazer fans.

The third quarter started out with Richardson from the Suns making a three-pointer making the score 53-54 Blazers. This almost tied the score; the Blazers realized that if they don’t play their hardest, they will lose the game. Soon Richardson made another three-point shot making the score 56-54. Bayless was soon fouled by the Suns, giving him a chance at evening the score by a bit, he made the shots and so the score was then 55-56, still in the Suns favor. Richardson, Suns then made a reverse layup shot and evened the score 64-64.Bayless then made a surprising running shot which put the Blazers at the advantage the score was then 66-64. The third quarter ended with the Blazers winning by two points, 74-72. On the fourth quarter, the Suns tied the score from Stoudemire who did a driving hook shot that tied the score 74-74. Howard made a jump bank shot, making it and scoring two points for the Blazers adjusting the score to 78-76. But all of a sudden Stoudemire made a driving layup and evened the score out to a 78-78. Near the end of the game, the Suns fouled Aldridge, he then made both of his free throws where the scores were then 96-87, Blazers. With a last resort, the Suns made an attempt to score, Nash scrambled to the ball and made a shot but missed and this disappointed the crowds of Phoenix. The Blazers won the game; this was a great accomplishment to the Blazers and elevated their morale.
During the fifth game the Blazers had a nice tempo and kept it going until the jumpers stopped going in the basket. The Blazers began to lose control of the tempo they had. “We didn’t control the tempo” claimed Jerryd Bayless. The Suns led the first half by 46-24. The Suns were getting most of the rebounds and free throws which gave them a bigger lead. The one thing that the Blazers couldn’t do was rebound. Even though their defense was good they could never get the rebounds. Even with his arthroscopic knee surgery Brandon Roy still tried his hardest to win the game. The Suns home court advantage gave them a boost to the end and they made the Blazers fight hard to score some points. With the foul shots that were given to the Suns it paid off for them and they won. Blazer fans were devastated but they knew there was still one more game left. The Blazers have won two games and the Suns have won three games.
Game six started and could be the last 2010 playoffs game for the Blazers. It was Blazers home court and they knew that if they lost then they could not go on to the next games. It was all or nothing for the Blazers. The Suns led the game 53-41 at the halftime. The Blazers tied it up 76 midway of the fourth quarter. They knew that this could be a chance to get in the lead but they were getting tired. Stoudemire prevented the Blazers from taking the lead and gave the Suns the lead of 80-76. Nash put a big lead with a three-pointer to put a ten point lead against the Blazers. With the lead that the Suns had, they won the game and were off to the next game. The Blazers tried hard but came up short. They always have next year to play in the playoffs and an opportunity to beat the Suns but until that day comes they will keep practicing.
