MLG (Major League Gaming)

By Matt D.

the world there is something that almost every country has. It is a  PS3 or XBOX360. The biggest game for these platforms is "COD" Call Of Duty. Most people play this game online for fun trying to level up as fast as they can. But only a million or so play for money and competitiveness. You may be asking yourself "ONLY" a million. But this is a very small number compared to the billions of people who play this game online. People go to websites and sign up buying credits to enter tournaments. One online player said that "I could easily make a living by playing with good teams and entering many tournaments." When you go on these sites you can either buy no credits and enter free tournaments and get no prize if you win. But what most people do is buy credits and enter prize     tournaments where the prize is for all sorts of things depending on what tournament you enter. You can win money, trucks, gift cards and all sorts of other things. But this can also make you loose a lot of money. A credit usually costs about 50 cents. It usually costs twenty or thirty credits. These are also non refundable so you have to use them. You also only get money back if you win first place. Once you sign up for a tournament you have to download a software to your gaming system. This software lets you get on to the tournament server where you can meet and play your opponent. From here depending on what you signed up for you can play him one on one or team on team. Your team can range from two to six players. But however how many players you have on your team the other team will have the same amount. "These tournaments are either a really way to earn money or loose money because it is addictive." Says a tournament player.
