Mac vs. Pc

The mac has a lot of better advantages compared to the PC. One major thing about the mac is its internet, its super fast and you can even update it to make it even twice as fast. For some of those people we love playing with music and messing around with it so now they have something called garage band and it’s free. It even comes with an imovie program so you can upload all your videos that you have and edited it. Compared to the PC the mac is really small because all it really is a monitor and does not have one of those big things that has all of the data because it’s all in the screen right in front of you. One big thing about the mac is that there are no viruses for it, whereas in pcs there are varieties on viruses. The best thing is I don’t even know half the things I have on my mac but that’s good because I keep on finding better things that I didn’t even know I have.

Pc has a wide variety of computers from laptops and net books, to desktops and heavy duty computers.  For all you gamers out their every game written for a computer are made for a p.c. so I do recommend that you get one if you’re a gamer. On the business side, 98 percent of businesses use windows, which is the main program for pc. For your home computer desktops are much more reliable than laptops. Printers and scanners are specifically designed for pc.

If you are looking for a cheaper computer but good quality buy a pc. They are way cheaper then Macs and are very good quality. For instance the cheapest Mac laptop is about 1000$ and isn’t very good. A 1000$ pc laptop is considered professional quality and would be about one of the best laptops on the market. Mac has less software then pc so that means that pc’s has more stuff to do then Macs. If you use your computer more for business and document spreadsheets, hands down the pc has that market. Expansion slots are easily available in all types of models.

We took a survey on what people liked better, the Mac, or the pc. 8 people were for the Mac and 20 were for the pc. So clearly the students of Stoller middle school prefer pc over Mac.

The advantage here is that while technology advances, your desktop can advance with it. One advancement is Google chrome; it is significantly faster than mac’s newest version of safari.  Memory can be expanded, entire hard drives removed and replaced with ease. Monitors, keyboard, mouse, and all the accessories you can think of can easily be upgraded with a simple procedure. This makes many desktops outlive notebooks, and other devices alone. Like Mac books. Batteries can wear out, screen can crack, etc and an entire new system needs to be purchased versus the desktop.

While technology is making things smaller, not all chips or processors can fit into the cases of smaller non-desktop computers. This puts desktops on the cutting edge of technology, as they receive newer improvements first, and then sizing down can take place for other machines. Truly, to be as advanced as possible one must own a desktop pc. When reliability, expandability, and presentation are important, the PC desktop is a clear winner. No other machine gives you the endless options and customization for the huge bargain price we enjoy today.

Between these two computers there is a lot to compare.  Which is the best for gaming, which is the best for video editing, what has the coolest features, and the general best all around?

The pc has the mac beaten with gaming; it offers a desktop called the Systemax x58 performance.  This is the best possible desktop to get if your only wanting to game on your computer.  Also, most games made for computers are made for pcs.

For the category of which company offers the best video editing, this category is won by mac.  Their apple mac pro has the program final cut pro, which is superior to Sony Vegas, the pc’s main video editing program.  The mac pro has up to 32GB of memory which is just about right for saving all of your video projects and editing software.

In the category of coolest features, I think that the mac wins.  It has programs like garage band where you can mess around making your own music with thousands of different sound bites.  You combine these sound bites into a track of music.  You can then put this music in a video or just keep it in a file and listen to it.  You can always go back to that track and work on it and change it.  Another thing it has is iTunes.  This program is available for the pc but you have to go out and download it from the mac website and it takes a while.  With the mac it comes standard and it actually loads faster on a mac than with a pc but that may vary with the internet you have.

All around, pc offers the best desktop.  This desktop is called the Alienware Aurora by dell.  It has a 500GB hard drive and 3GB of DDR3 memory.  You can upgrade it to serve any purpose that you would want.  It has the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 graphics card which allows 1920x1200 resolution which is very good, around the quality of HD TVs.  It only costs $1200 without upgrades while the mac pro costs $3000 dollars without upgrades.  Overall this is the best possible desktop that you can get today.
