S-Cubes or Lockers?

A Major School Predicament
By Hannah Lyons and Josh Falkenstein

The 7th Grade s-cubes in orange hall

Would you rather have a secure place to store your stuff or have an open box that people can steal from?   From the people that we interviewed we asked them their preference of Stoller having lockers or s-cubes.   We asked them why they think we don’t have lockers and Ms. Hauth said, “S-Cubes are a problem. And because of the locked budget of the school district.”   She also said, “That lockers are better.”   We also asked the opinion of Mrs. Davis and she responded, “Cost and space are the reason of why we don't have s-cubes.”   And asked there reason of the topic of an anonymous person said” Money and space.”    And we asked the three people of which they think is better.   And all three of our sources Ms. Hauth, Mrs. Davis, and an anonymous person stated that lockers are better.   Then we asked the question if we should switch and why; and they responded by Ms. Hauth “Yes, theft is the main reason”, Mrs. Davis “Yes, and theft” and the anonymous person stated “Yes and theft”.   And we finally asked why do you think lockers are better and they said; Ms. Hauth “More secure, but the downside is that they are to expensive.” For Mrs. Davis she said “Security, but the cost.”   And the anonymous person said “Secure and more privacy.”   So as you can see from this the students and teachers all think that Stoller should have lockers for more security.   But the cost of the lockers vs. s-cubes is huge so we won’t be able to get any anytime soon. Also another downside is that the janitors would have to come down to every hall to change the combination every summer, which would coast extra.  And that also interferes with the limited space that we also have.   That shows that we should have lockers vs. s-cubes.   But the only problem is the space at Stoller and the limited money budget.
