Pros and Cons of the PS3

What you need to know about the PS3.

Pros
1. Cell- 8 cores, 7 active, 1 for redundancy. Why is this good? This is excellent for the buyers. It solves many bugs, which reduces complaints and defective systems. This is amazing for gamers because each cell does a different job. This allows amazing multitasking.
2. Blue-Ray Disk- 52 gig of space to use. No matter how you look at it, bigger space is better. More room for developers to fill. Better graphics, sounds, longer games, more modes, more maps, everything. A $1000 value, now yours for only $300. Play movies at high definition, games at high def. That is why the Playstation 3 is a step ahead of all gaming consoles.
3. Playstation 3 has free Playstation network! People thought that it would be a piece of junk and said they were copying live but it is great! It is just like Xbox live and is not different in any way.
4. Hard drives in the Ps3 are standard. This means the hard drives will reduce loading time and drive game play. So this will help with music downloads, game downloads and helping moving the loads faster.
5. Web Browsing- Just like the PSP. This is probably an obvious step, considering that the PS3 allows USB plug-ins for keyboard and mouse. The PS3 will be like a mini-computer. The web browsing feature is useful and convenient for users.
6. Sort of a cool feature is the PSP can be used as a controller! If you are really good with a PSP (and if you own one) then these games should be no problem for you!
7. The PS3 is 1080p HD. Even though games won’t come out with that kind of graphics for a while it still gives you the best quality out of all the other gaming consoles.

But Nathan P. says, “I’ve tried it twice and it was horrible. I just don’t like the controllers.”

Cons
1. Since the PS3 has blue ray the price of games are more expensive the other games on other consoles. This is a smaller problem but I like saving money so hopefully they will lower there prices soon.
2. Cell is very unique. Too unique. Even though developers say that it is not as hard as the PS2 to make for, but it still is the hardest design to develop for in the next generation consoles
3. The size is bigger then all of the other consoles so that doesn’t make them as portable.

Now for the people of Stoller to decide what the pros and cons of the PS3 are
Cons
No wire controllers so you have to go really close to the PS3 to charge it.
Achievement system is better on the Xbox. On the PS3 you get trophies for your achievements. On the Xbox 360 it gives you points that goes towards your gamer score.
Pay for a microphone. With the Xbox it comes with a free microphone in the box.
Pros
Do a lot more things like Internet browsing
Controllers are better
Rent games on it. It has netflix on itso you can rent games directly to the PS3
They look cool. They have a sleeker design then most Consoles.
Buttons are cool. You really only have to press slig htly down on the buttons for it to do what you want.
Don’t break as often. The Xbox gets Red Ring Of Death and you have to send it in to Microsoft to get it fixed
